Lowell Sheppard
Lowell Sheppard MA, FRGS
Profile:
Lowell Sheppard has worked in the non-profit sector
since 1976 and has resided in North America, Europe,
Latin America, and Asia. His career has focused largely
on displaced people and he has lived and worked within
the warzones of Southeast Asia and the Balkans. He is
also a published writer with seven books to his credit,
including stories of heroism in Bosnia during the war
and a travel book chronicling his journey though Japan
by bicycle. As Asia Director for HOPE International
Development Agency, he resides in Nagoya, Japan. His
involvement with HOPE began in 1978, when he went as
a volunteer to the refugee camps in Southeast Asia,
setting up supplementary feeding programs. He has served
them in a variety of capacities since, sometimes as
staff and sometimes as a volunteer. Lowell also has
a number of business involvements including Japan Event
Management and Bouken International Corporation.
